Ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilized egg implants itself outside of the womb, usually in one of the fallopian tube. In rare cases the egg attaches itself to one of the ovaries, cornua of the uterus or even the cervix. In this case the growth of the baby is abnormal and entails a lot of damage to the mother.
