No fewer than 500 residents of in Njikoka Local Government Area of State have been sacked from their homes following an menace which has taken over 70.5 hectares of the communal land with over 2km in length.
The natural disaster which washed away many farmlands, economic trees, and public utilities, also washed away about 100 homes and left many others under threat.

A community leader of Urunnebo village, Enugwu-Ukwu, Mr Nwadinigwe Emmanuel, said yesterday when the officials of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) visited the erosion site to ascertain the level of damage, that the disaster had lasted more than 30 years.
