Buhari and Kachikwu should resign – CAN
CAN in a statement by its South-East body in Enugu yesterday, said attacks on Kachikwu were misdirected considering that he was merely the minister of state, whereas Buhari is the Petroleum Minister.
CAN President, Most Rev. David Eberechukwu, condemned calls for Kachikwu’s resignation and asked “what happens to the main minister, President Buhari? Will he also resign?”
He expressed surprise “over the attack on Kachikwu by Nigerians, even those that are supposed to know better.”
Eberechukwu, who is also the Chairman, Southern Nigeria Christian Elders’ Forum, frowned at what he termed “nonchalant attitude of President Muhammadu Buhari over the attacks on our people in the South-East and the Agatu community in Benue State.
“The National Assembly should do something to stop this attack of Fulani herdsmen. It has never been like this before; the Fulani herdsmen we see now are not the same of those days.
“How come they now carry AK-47 and pump actions rifles? Who is pursuing them and who are they pursuing? This is quite unfortunate.”
