Governor Fayose ‘Set To Dump PDP’
Governor Fayose Threatens To Dump PDP
Barely 24 hours after the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) elected its presidential candidate, the outgoing governor of Ekiti State Ayodele Fayose has threatened to quit the party.
It is understood that he issued the threat to leave the party after the National Convention held on Saturday in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

The governor informed newsmen on Monday that he would renounce his “membership of the PDP anytime from now.”
“After consultations, I will speak clearly to Nigerians,” Fayose, who has been one of the most vocal critics of the Buhari government, said today, Nigerian Guardian reports.
Before Fayose’s surprising announcement, there have been rumours that the Ekiti governor was planning to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress. But he said that will never happen.
“I remain in PDP and those associating me with the APC can continue to celebrate their own political self deceit,” Fayose said on August 5.
Meanwhile, a former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, was declared the winner of the party’s presidential primary, defeating the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, Senate President Bukola Saraki, and eight others.
