Luis Suarez inspired Barcelona to a comprehensive win over Sporting de Gijon on Saturday evening, netting four times.
The superstar striker ran riot in the second half at the Camp Nou, scoring all four of his goals after the 63rd minute.
His first was a simple finish inside the six-yard box, before the Uruguayan slotted twice from the penalty spot. Suarez then rounded off a 6-0 win with a fourth right-footed effort on the 88th minute.
It took his season tally in La Liga to 34 goals, four ahead of Real Madrid hero Cristiano Ronaldo. Suarez is also ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic (32) in the rankings for Europe’s top five divisions.
Since his move from Liverpool in the summer of 2014, Suarez has enjoyed a stellar run of form at Barcelona, linking up superbly with Lionel Messi and Neymar, as the South Americans have created the most feared attacking trio in world football.
In 2015, he matched his career trophy haul in the space of seven months, as the Catalan side emerged victorious in five competitions.
